Motion Capture Research Project

I had the opportunity to be a Student Researcher for Georgia State University’s Immersive Media Computing Research Experience for Undergraduates. The college has a 4Dviews volumetric motion capture stage that records mesh data, but they needed a way to obtain joint rotational information from it. To tackle this problem I developed a Blender add-on using Python to locate joints and extract an articulated skeleton from the recordings.

VASC Sea Turtle VR Project

During my undergraduate degree I worked as part of UNC Wilmington’s Virtual Access to STEM Careers team funded by the National Science Foundation. Created an educational virtual reality experience deployed in classrooms to teach elementary schoolers about sea turtles and their preservation. Utilized C# and the SteamVR API in Unity for development.

Below is a demonstration of one of the lessons in which the user gets to take measurements of a sea turtle’s fins and shell.
